Scindapsus Rajatapura
The Scindapsus Rajatapura is a rare and highly sought-after aroid prized for its striking, velvety foliage. Each leaf displays a deep, matte green surface overlaid with a silvery-platinum sheen that shifts subtly in different light — a hallmark of the species' exceptional ornamental appeal. A true collector's specimen, the Rajatapura commands attention in any curated plant collection.
Care Guide
Light
Thrives in bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the delicate leaf surface. Tolerates lower light but growth will slow and variegation may diminish.
Water
Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Scindapsus are drought-tolerant and prefer to dry slightly between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of decline — always err on the dry side.
Humidity
Prefers moderate to high humidity (50–70%). Benefits from a humidifier or pebble tray in drier climates, though it adapts reasonably well to average household conditions.
Temperature
Keep between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F.
Soil & Potting
Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix — a blend of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark works well. Repot every 1–2 years or when rootbound.
Fertilizer
Feed monthly during the growing season (spring–summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce or eliminate feeding in fall and winter.
Toxicity
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
