Philodendron Caramel Marble Variegated
$70.00
Philodendron ‘Caramel Marble’ Variegated is one of the most coveted cultivars in the collector market — a rare, slow-growing hybrid whose large, heart-shaped leaves emerge in warm tones of caramel, cream, and butterscotch before deepening to a rich mosaic of olive, dark green, and golden variegation. The marbling is unpredictable and ever-evolving, with each new leaf a distinct expression of color and pattern. Lush, architectural, and deeply luxurious — this is a plant that commands a room and rewards patience.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light is essential to maintain the warm caramel and cream variegation. Insufficient light causes reversion toward solid green; avoid direct sun, which bleaches and scorches the variegated sections.
- Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry between waterings. Variegated sections have less chlorophyll and are more sensitive to overwatering — err on the drier side and ensure excellent drainage.
- Humidity: Thrives at 60–80% humidity. A humidifier is strongly recommended to support large, healthy leaf development and prevent browning edges.
- Temperature: Prefers 65–85°F (18–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts, air conditioning vents, and temperatures below 55°F.
- Soil: Rich, chunky aroid mix — potting soil, perlite, orchid bark, and a touch of worm castings for nutrition and excellent drainage.
- Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength. Avoid high-nitrogen formulas, which can suppress variegation expression.
- Support: Benefits from a moss pole or totem as it matures — climbing encourages larger, more dramatically variegated leaves.
- Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested.
