Care Guide

Light
Bright, indirect light is essential. The white and blush sectors lack chlorophyll and will scorch in direct sun. A north- or east-facing window, or filtered light behind a sheer curtain, delivers the ideal balance of intensity and gentleness. Supplement with a full-spectrum grow light in lower-light environments.

Water
Water thoroughly when the top 2–3 cm of substrate feels dry to the touch. Ensure the pot drains completely — never allow roots to sit in standing water. Frequency will slow considerably in winter; let the plant guide the schedule.

Humidity
Target 60–80% relative humidity. A dedicated humidifier is the most consistent method; pebble trays and misting are acceptable supplements but should not be the sole source. Higher humidity encourages larger, more expressive new leaves.

Temperature
18–29 °C (65–85 °F). Keep away from cold drafts, air conditioning vents, and heating units. Do not allow temperatures to drop below 15 °C (59 °F).

Substrate
A chunky, fast-draining aroid mix is non-negotiable: combine quality potting soil with perlite, orchid bark, and a small measure of activated charcoal. Excellent aeration at the root zone is the single most important environmental factor for long-term health.

Fertilising
Feed fortnightly during the growing season (spring through early autumn) with a balanced liquid fertiliser diluted to half-strength. Reduce to monthly in winter or suspend feeding altogether. Avoid high-nitrogen formulations, which can push green growth at the expense of variegation.

Support
As a natural climber, the Miracle Tricolor will reward a moss pole or coco coir totem with larger, more fenestrated leaves and intensified variegation expression. Introduce a support early and secure new growth as it develops.

Propagation
Take stem cuttings with at least one node; root in water, sphagnum moss, or a sterile perlite medium under high humidity. Patience is paramount — allow 4–8 weeks for robust root development before potting on.

Toxicity
Contains calcium oxalate crystals. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
