Monstera deliciosa 'Albo Variegata' is one of the most coveted aroids in the collector plant world — and for good reason. Its iconic split and fenestrated leaves are splashed with irregular white-to-cream variegation, making every single leaf a one-of-a-kind work of art. Unlike stable variegation, the albo's white sectors are produced by a chimeric mutation, meaning no two plants — or even two leaves — are ever alike. A true centerpiece plant.

Care Guide

  • Light: Bright indirect light is essential. Variegated sectors lack chlorophyll and cannot photosynthesize — insufficient light will cause slow growth and reversion risk. Avoid direct harsh sun, which scorches white tissue instantly.
  • Water: Water thoroughly when the top 50% of soil is dry. White variegated areas are more susceptible to rot; never let the plant sit in standing water.
  • Humidity: 60–80% preferred. Higher humidity supports faster growth and reduces brown leaf edges on white tissue.
  • Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts and air conditioning vents.
  • Soil: Chunky, well-draining aroid mix — coco coir, perlite, orchid bark, and a small amount of worm castings.
  • Fertilizer: Balanced or slightly nitrogen-forward fertilizer at half strength every 2–3 weeks during the growing season. Avoid over-fertilizing, which can push solid green growth.
  • Support: Provide a moss pole or coco coir totem to encourage larger, more fenestrated leaves.
  • Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested.
