Epipremnum Skeleton Key
$20.00
The Epipremnum 'Skeleton Key' is a rare and visually striking cultivar prized for its deeply lobed, elongated leaves that taper to a distinctive point — evoking the silhouette of an antique skeleton key. A vining aroid with a vigorous growth habit, it produces increasingly fenestrated and dramatic foliage as it matures, especially when given a moss pole or totem to climb. A must-have for collectors seeking something beyond the standard pothos lineup.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright to medium indirect light. More light encourages larger, more fenestrated leaves. Tolerates lower light but growth slows significantly.
- Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Allow excess to drain fully — does not tolerate soggy roots.
- Humidity: Prefers 50–70% humidity. Thrives in humid environments; a humidifier or pebble tray is beneficial.
- Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts and temps below 55°F.
- Soil: Well-draining aroid mix — perlite, orchid bark, and potting soil or coco coir.
- Fertilizer: Balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength every 3–4 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce or stop in winter.
- Support: Provide a moss pole or trellis to encourage larger, more mature leaf development.
- Repotting: Every 1–2 years, or when roots emerge from drainage holes.
- Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested.
