Begonia Miss Muffy
$15.00
Begonia 'Miss Muffy' is a charming compact rhizomatous Begonia with a big personality — featuring richly textured, deep green leaves with a velvety surface and contrasting dark markings that give it a bold, jewel-like presence. A low-maintenance collector's favorite that thrives indoors with minimal fuss.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright to medium indirect light. Tolerates lower light better than many Begonias, but thrives with a bright, filtered window. Avoid direct sun, which scorches the delicate foliage.
- Water: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Rhizomatous Begonias are drought-tolerant and highly susceptible to root rot — err on the side of underwatering. Never let roots sit in standing water.
- Humidity: Moderate humidity (40–60%) is ideal. Avoid misting leaves directly; use a pebble tray or humidifier if needed.
- Temperature: 60–80°F (15–27°C). Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F.
- Soil: Light, well-draining mix with added perlite. Shallow, wide pots suit the rhizomatous root system best.
- Fertilizer: Diluted balanced liquid fertilizer every 3–4 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce or stop in winter.
- Repotting: Every 2 years or when the rhizome outgrows the pot. Prefers wide, shallow containers over deep pots.
- Toxicity: Toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.
Compact, characterful, and effortlessly elegant — Miss Muffy is the perfect addition to any curated indoor plant collection.
