Care Guide

• Light: Bright to medium indirect light. A. luxurians heritage means this hybrid tolerates slightly lower light than many aroids, but brighter indirect light will encourage larger, more bullate leaves. Avoid direct sun.
• Water: Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of substrate are dry. Excellent drainage is non-negotiable — this hybrid is sensitive to overwatering and root rot. Allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings rather than staying consistently moist.
• Humidity: Thrives at 65–85% relative humidity. A dedicated humidifier is strongly recommended to support the development of the characteristic bullate texture. Consistent humidity produces the most dramatic leaf structure.
• Temperature: 65–82°F (18–28°C). Avoid cold drafts, air conditioning vents, and temperatures below 55°F, which can cause stress and leaf damage.
• Soil: A very chunky, well-aerated aroid mix is essential — combine orchid bark, coarse perlite, and a small amount of premium potting mix. This hybrid benefits from a mix that dries relatively quickly between waterings.
• Fertilizer: Feed every 3–4 weeks during the growing season (spring through summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength. A calcium-magnesium supplement can support the development of thick, textured foliage.
• Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when roots become visibly bound. Choose a container only slightly larger than the root ball — this hybrid prefers a snug fit, which reduces overwatering risk.
