Alocasia Sendenii 4"

$20.00

Alocasia Sendenii is a striking tropical aroid prized for its bold, arrow-shaped leaves with prominent silvery-green venation and a velvety, dark green surface. A lesser-known gem in the Alocasia genus, Sendenii commands attention in any collection with its architectural form and dramatic upright habit. Each plant is grown with care and shipped in a 4" nursery pot, ready to establish in its new environment.

Care Guide

  • Light: Bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which scorches leaves. Thrives near an east- or north-facing window, or set back from a south/west exposure.
  • Water: Water when the top 1–2" of soil are dry. Alocasia are sensitive to both overwatering and drought — consistent moisture without saturation is key. Use filtered or room-temperature water when possible.
  • Humidity: High humidity (60%+) preferred. Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or group with other tropicals. Low humidity causes crispy leaf edges.
  • Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts, air conditioning vents, and temperatures below 55°F.
  • Soil: Well-draining, chunky aroid mix. A blend of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark works well.
  • Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season (spring–summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce or halt feeding in fall and winter.
  • Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when roots become rootbound. Choose a pot 1–2" larger with drainage holes.
  • Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.

What to Expect

Alocasia may enter a brief acclimation period after shipping — some leaf drop or dormancy is normal. With stable warmth, humidity, and indirect light, new growth will emerge within weeks. Each plant is unique; size, leaf count, and patterning will vary.
