Alocasia Antoro Velvet
$20.00
Alocasia Antoro Velvet is a rare, collector-grade aroid prized for its dramatically dark, velvety foliage and striking silvery-white venation. Each leaf emerges with a deep, almost black-green surface that catches light with a subtle sheen — a living sculpture for the discerning plant collector.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which will scorch the velvety leaves. Thrives near an east- or north-facing window.
- Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Alocasias prefer consistent moisture but are sensitive to overwatering — ensure excellent drainage.
- Humidity: High humidity (60–80%) is essential. Use a humidifier or pebble tray; avoid dry indoor air.
- Temperature: Keep between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F.
- Soil: A well-draining, chunky aroid mix — combine perlite, orchid bark, and coco coir for optimal root health.
- Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season (spring–summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength.
- Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when rootbound. Choose a pot only 1–2 inches larger to prevent overwatering risk.
- Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
