Philodendron Orange Marmalade
$20.00
The Philodendron Orange Marmalade is a rare hybrid that earns its name with every unfurling leaf — new growth emerges in vivid shades of amber, burnt orange, and copper before maturing to a deep, glossy green. The color transition is the spectacle: no two leaves look alike at any given moment, making this plant a living, ever-changing display. Compact and upright with a self-heading growth habit, it’s as well-suited to a desk as it is to a curated plant wall. A true collector’s philodendron.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright, indirect light intensifies the orange coloration on new growth. Avoid direct sun — it scorches leaves and mutes the color display.
- Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Consistent moisture preferred; avoid drought stress which slows new growth.
- Humidity: Thrives at 60%+ humidity. Higher humidity accelerates growth and enhances leaf color.
- Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from cold drafts and temps below 55°F.
- Soil: Rich, well-draining aroid mix with perlite and orchid bark for aeration.
- Fertilizer: Feed every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength.
- Repotting: Every 1–2 years; prefers a pot only slightly larger than its root ball.
- Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. ⚠️
