Philodendron Dwarf Red Congo Variegated 2”
$25.00
Philodendron 'Dwarf Red Congo' Variegated is a rare collector's mutation of the beloved Red Congo — compact in stature, extraordinary in presence. Each leaf emerges with unpredictable splashes of cream, white, or pale yellow variegation against deep, burgundy-flushed green, making every plant a one-of-a-kind specimen.
Unlike its full-sized counterpart, the Dwarf form maintains a tighter, more architectural growth habit — ideal for shelves, desks, or curated plant displays where space is precious but impact is non-negotiable.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light. Variegated sections have less chlorophyll — avoid low light, which will slow growth and reduce variegation expression.
- Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Allow excess to drain fully; this plant is sensitive to soggy roots.
- Humidity: 60–80% preferred. Thrives with a humidifier or pebble tray nearby.
- Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F.
- Soil: Well-draining aroid mix — chunky perlite, orchid bark, and coco coir blend recommended.
- Fertilizer: Balanced liquid fertilizer (e.g., 20-20-20) at half strength, monthly during active growth. Avoid over-fertilizing variegated tissue.
- Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Variegation is inherently unstable and unique to each plant. Photos are representative — your specimen will be similarly stunning but one-of-a-kind.
