Hoya Sunrise
$12.00
A collector's gem in the Hoya world, Hoya Sunrise earns its name with foliage that flushes deep burgundy, copper, and rose-gold when kissed by bright light — a living sunrise in leaf form. Leaves are thick, succulent-like, and richly textured, with a waxy sheen that intensifies as the plant matures. A compact, manageable grower that rewards patience with cascading vines and, in time, clusters of fragrant, star-shaped blooms.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect to direct morning light. More sun = deeper, richer coloration. Avoid harsh afternoon sun.
- Water: Allow the top 50–75% of soil to dry between waterings. Hoyas are drought-tolerant; overwatering is the primary risk.
- Humidity: Tolerates average household humidity (40–60%). Higher humidity encourages faster growth.
- Soil: Well-draining, chunky mix — a blend of perlite, orchid bark, and potting mix works well.
- Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season (spring–summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce or stop in winter.
- Temperature: Prefers 60–85°F (15–29°C). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F.
- Repotting: Prefers to be slightly root-bound. Repot only when roots are actively escaping drainage holes.
- Blooming: Do not remove old peduncles — blooms return on the same spurs season after season.
