Ficus Tineke 4"
$15.00
The Ficus Tineke (Ficus elastica 'Tineke') is a rubber plant elevated to art — its broad, waxy leaves painted in a soft palette of cream, sage, and blush pink, with each new leaf emerging in a vivid coral sheath before unfurling into its full variegated glory. Upright and architectural, it grows with quiet confidence and commands attention without demanding it.
A collector's favorite for its painterly foliage and steady growth, the Tineke brings warmth and sophistication to any interior. This 4" starter is the perfect entry point for a plant that will only become more impressive with time.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light brings out the richest variegation; avoid low light, which can cause reversion to solid green. Keep out of harsh direct sun.
- Water: Allow the top inch or two of soil to dry between waterings. Ficus are sensitive to overwatering — consistency is key.
- Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity; mist occasionally or place near a humidifier.
- Temperature: Thrives between 60–80°F (16–27°C). Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes, which can cause leaf drop.
- Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength.
- Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years as the plant grows, using a well-draining potting mix. Note: the sap can irritate skin — wear gloves when repotting.
