Care Guide

💡 Light

Bright, indirect light is ideal. An east- or north-facing window works beautifully. Avoid direct afternoon sun, which can bleach or scorch the delicate leaves. Low light will cause colors to fade.

💧 Water

Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Rex Begonias are sensitive to overwatering — always check soil moisture before adding water. Bottom watering is recommended to keep foliage dry and prevent fungal issues.

💦 Humidity

Prefers humidity levels of 50–70%. Place near a humidifier or on a pebble tray with water. Avoid misting directly on the leaves, as this can promote powdery mildew.

🌡️ Temperature

Thrives between 65–80°F (18–27°C). Keep away from cold drafts, air conditioning vents, and temperatures below 55°F (13°C).

🪴 Soil & Potting

Use a well-draining, airy mix — a blend of peat or coco coir, perlite, and a touch of bark works well. Repot every 1–2 years in spring when rootbound.

🌿 Fertilizer

Feed monthly during the growing season (spring through summer) with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer at half strength. Reduce or pause feeding in fall and winter.
