Anthurium Michelle x Michelle Zara 3”
$40.00
A refined cross within the Michelle lineage, the Anthurium Michelle × Michelle Zara brings together two closely related yet distinct expressions of this beloved velvet-leaf hybrid. The result is a plant of exceptional leaf quality — deeply velvety, richly pigmented, and architecturally striking. Expect broad, elongated foliage with a pronounced midrib, lush dark-green velutinous surface, and the subtle iridescence characteristic of premium Michelle genetics. A grower's hybrid for collectors who appreciate refinement over spectacle.
Offered as a rooted plant in a 5" grow pot, established and ready to thrive.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light is ideal. An east-facing window or a spot a few feet from a south/west window works well. Shield from harsh direct sun to preserve leaf texture and color depth.
- Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of substrate to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow excess to drain freely. Reduce frequency in winter or low-light conditions.
- Humidity: Prefers 65–80%+ relative humidity. A humidifier or enclosed grow space significantly improves growth rate and leaf quality. Avoid heating vents and air conditioning drafts.
- Temperature: Optimal range is 65–85°F (18–29°C). Sensitive to cold — keep away from drafts and never expose to temperatures below 60°F.
- Substrate: Use a well-draining aroid mix: chunky bark, perlite, and a small portion of coco coir or sphagnum. Avoid heavy, moisture-retaining potting soils.
- Fertilizer: Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength every 2–4 weeks during active growth. Flush the substrate every few months to prevent mineral salt accumulation.
- Repotting: Repot when roots circle the base or emerge from drainage holes. Step up only one pot size at a time to avoid overwatering risk.
- Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Handle with care and keep out of reach of children and animals.
