Anthurium Hookeri Variegated
$45.00
The Anthurium hookeri Variegated is a collector's statement piece — a bold, bird's-nest-style anthurium bearing broad, paddle-shaped leaves splashed with creamy white, pale yellow, and soft green variegation. Unlike climbing anthuriums, hookeri forms a dramatic rosette that fans outward from a central crown, making it as architectural as it is rare. Each leaf is a one-of-a-kind expression of variegation, ensuring no two specimens are alike.
Care Guide
- Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which scorches variegated tissue. An east- or north-facing window is ideal; supplement with grow lights if needed.
- Water: Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Variegated tissue is more sensitive to overwatering — err on the drier side.
- Humidity: Prefers 60–80% humidity. A humidifier or pebble tray is recommended; avoid misting directly on leaves.
- Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from drafts and temps below 55°F.
- Soil: A chunky, well-draining aroid mix — perlite, orchid bark, and coco coir blend works well.
- Fertilizer: Balanced liquid fertilizer (e.g., 20-20-20) at half strength, monthly during the growing season (spring–summer). Skip in winter.
- Repotting: Every 1–2 years or when roots circle the pot. Prefers to be slightly snug.
- Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested.
