Alocasia Polly Pink Snow 3”

$45.00

A truly rare find in the collector aroid world, the Alocasia Polly Pink Snow takes the iconic African Mask form and adorns it with an ethereal dusting of white and blush-pink variegation — a snowfall of color scattered across deep, sculptural green leaves. The contrast is striking: dark, velvety foliage with bold white veining, interrupted by soft pink and cream splashes that make each new leaf an event.

At 3”, this is a young specimen with its most spectacular growth still ahead. The Pink Snow’s variegation can shift and deepen as the plant matures and conditions improve — making it one of the more dynamic and rewarding variegated Alocasias to grow. An exceptional addition to any serious collector’s lineup.

Care Guide

  • Light: Bright, indirect light is essential for maintaining and developing the pink and white variegation. Low light will result in greener, less expressive new growth. A quality grow light is an excellent supplement. Never expose to direct sun, which scorches variegated tissue.
  • Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Small pots dry out faster — check regularly and water thoroughly, allowing full drainage each time. Avoid letting the plant sit in water, which causes rapid root rot.
  • Humidity: Thrives at 60–80% humidity. A humidifier is strongly recommended — the Pink Snow is sensitive to dry air, which can cause browning on variegated leaf margins and slowed growth.
  • Temperature: Keep between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from cold drafts, vents, and temperatures below 60°F. Consistent warmth encourages steady new leaf production.
  • Soil: A light, chunky aroid mix is ideal — combine potting soil with perlite and orchid bark for excellent drainage and root aeration. Avoid heavy, water-retentive soils.
  • Fertilizer: Feed every 2–4 weeks with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season (spring–summer). Consistent nutrition supports variegation expression and healthy new growth. Reduce or pause in fall and winter.
  • Repotting: At 3”, expect to repot within 6–12 months as the plant establishes. Size up by one pot at a time and refresh the soil mix at each repotting.
  • Pests: Monitor closely for spider mites and thrips — both are common on Alocasias and can damage the delicate variegated tissue quickly. Inspect undersides of leaves regularly and treat at first sign with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
  • Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
